WEEKEND POLL: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ZACH GALIFANKIS

Ever since 2009, with the release of The Hangover, we’ve been bombarded with this big baby with a fluffy beard that calls himself Zach Galifanakis and everyone I believe has gone through stages of love and hatred with the man.

Since then he’s not only been in the ridiculous comedies (Due Date and Youth In Revolt) but he’s also had his dramatic moments (Up In the Air and It’s Kind of a Funny Story). He even has his own web comedy series, Between to Ferns which goes all the way out there for that awkward comedy style that’s become very popular nowadays.

So tell me, what’s your decision on Galifanakis in the poll below:

This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

His standup is brilliant. His film roles are dictated by others, so you can't blame him when a.) he's not allowed to do anti-comedy (his forté) and b.) he gets typecast. He's a writer of comedy forced to perform flat archetypes written by others. Not exactly the best showcase for his strengths.

It's sort of like taking a racehorse, because it's fast, and racing it against sharks in the ocean. It works, sometimes. Not really. Hollywood squanders talent and forces talented artists to be defined as 'decent comic sidekicks and obnoxious leads' because they're not allowed to be anything better.
