This time around on the podcast we get into a much more recent territory of film history with Neveldine/Taylor’s classic film Crank High Voltage. With Andrew Johnson (from FilmGeekRadio and contributor to Movie Mezzanine) joining me we talk masculinity, video games and satire as we deconstruct the world of Crank and the character of Chev Chelios.

Though I hated both Crank films with a passion, I respect Andrew's choice for picking it. I did not agree with all the points he raised for the film, but it was an interesting conversation nonetheless. Andrew provides enough food for thought to make me curious in seeing both Gamer and Ghost Rider 2.
Don't watch Gamer Courtney… it's so bad. But it is definitely another attempt for N/T to make that gaming commentary. I do kind of remember enjoying GR2 when it was in theatres, but I've yet to revisit it.
But you should definitely give CRANK 2 a second shot Courtney… it's amazingly brilliant.
I don't hate Crank 2, but I don't necessarily like it either. Even though I still like the first Crank, I've slowly grown to absolutely HATE everything that Neveldine/Taylor stands for and I'll be highly reluctant to watch any of their future films.
I'd say give CRANK 2 a second chance… it's a really great interesting film…
