This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

The Boss of It All – Though I am a big fan of Von Trier, I really need to catch up with the pre-Breaking the Waves work. Also, you got to see Dogville! Many hate it, but I absolutely loved it!

Sympathy Mr. Vengeance – This is still my least favourite film by Park, it ranks just below Thirst for me. Keep in my I have not seen Stoker or I’m a Cyborg, But That’s Ok

The Brass Teapot – I remember this getting solid buzz at TIFF, I may have to lower my expectations for this film.

Life of Pi – While I really liked this film, I think the biggest flaw is the inconsistent performance of the lead actor. Also, Ang Lee is the Chinese Danny Boyle. :)

I definitely need to watch some more of Von Trier's previous work… it just seems daunting at times. I remember particular parties while at TIFF boasting the shit out of Brass Teapot. I was so disappointed when I saw it. Did you ever see War Witch (Rebelle)???

Of the films that I've seen from von Trier, I feel like it's one of his weaker efforts. It's the least extreme of his films and definitely his most obscure though I think it's also a transitional feature of sorts since he's experimenting with a new technology of using the computer to drive the camera.

I also thought, didn't bring it up, he made it over edited on purpose to evoke a lot of low budget filmmaking technique. It came off like it was a dogma film mocking… couldn't find anyone to support this theory, but that's all it is.

      Hope you enjoyed the show.
