It’s a day late but just as accurate. I delayed this post a day due to Christmas, I’ve had my fill of turkey, ham and all sorts of cakes. At this point in time I’m probably in transit back to Trinidad, so look for more updates tomorrow.
FIRST TIME VIEWINGS
THE ART OF GETTING BY (2011) – not that enamored but I see what it was going for… but ye, lesser of other films thus year.
BELLFLOWER (2011) – crazy shit happens when crazy people get together and think they’re in love then fuck each other over (plus #MadMax)
SLEEPING BEAUTY (2011) – I don’t even understand what the film was going for… other than making me realize Emily Browning’s ass
BEAUTIFUL BOY (2011) – an new reason for parents to cry, but at the end a predictably emotional film that didn’t connect with me
PAGE ONE: INSIDE THE NEW YORK TIMES (2011) – might’ve found my #2 doc of 2011, but then again haven’t watched too many yet
REWATCHED
BROADCAST NEWS (1987) – “I’ve never fought for anyone before. Does anyone usually win these things?”
THE KILLING (1956) – “You like money. You’ve got a great big dollar sign there where most women have a heart.”
