WHAT I’VE BEEN WATCHING: DEC 4TH – DEC 10TH

Ohh the week has been hectic and here I finally am to show what I have for it all. With the end of the year approaching I’m going to be spending a lot less time rewatching older films that I already love and throwing myself into the plethora of 2011 releases that I’ve avoided (whether it be accidental, on purpose or incidentally) t0 get a better understanding of what truly is and isn’t the best and the worst of 2011.

So here’s this week’s counter.

FIRST TIME VIEWS

Dead Man (1995) – I didn’t know what to expect, being my first Jarmusch film, but I can’t say I have anything particularly good to say about it.
The Ides of March (2011) – The dark side of polotics shine brighter than ever with a newbie to the world who’s so talented at it.
Another Earth (2011) – Pretty much melodrama wrapped around a science-fiction premise that ends up being disappointingly handled.
The Muppets (2011) – Am I allowed a guilt pleasure favourite of the year? Then this is it. It’s evverything I wanted while acknowledging a few faults and missteps along the way.
The Sitter (2011) – the worst possible outcome of a comedy I could imagine. Didn’t laugh once.

REWATCHED

The Usual Suspects (1995) – Give me the fucking keys, you fucking cocksucking motherfucker, aaarrrghh.
Robin Hood: Men In Tights (1993) – I lost. I lost? Wait a second, I’m not supposed to lose. Let me see the script.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)Sallah, I said *no* camels. That’s *five* camels. Can’t you count?

THE COUNT

242 First Time Watches (105 Films released in 2011)

SONG OF THE WEEK

This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.
