A week of heavy 2012 catching up, franchise rewatches and a classic mixed in for good measure. I think we – in the blogging industry – like to call a win. Right?
This week was definitely a heavy week for me and honestly I can’t stop looking forward to the coming week. I have three days off work coming and a weekend to spend back home. It’ll be fun, not sure how much movie watching I’ll be doing, but that bit is yet to be determined.
Anyways it’s Sunday and you guys didn’t click over to read my pithy personal diary of how I feel… here’s what’s been flickering in front of my face this past week.
FIRST TIME WATCH
THE RAID: REDEMPTION (2012) – when a man puts down his gun in order to have a fist fight with you, best know this is not going to end well.
INDIE GAME: THE MOVIE (2012) – thank god someone introduced me to PHP/MySQL web development, because if I went down this route of game development my life would be even more of a mess.
HIS GIRL FRIDAY (1940) – Cary Grant is one of the biggest assholes and still gets his way while making a hilariously entertaining movie.
JEFF, WHO LIVES AT HOME (2012) – Probably one of my favourite films of the year so far. Duplass brothers wow me again.
PROMETHEUS (2012) – a problematic film that had a lot of grand ideas that I felt were undercut by the ALIEN horror requirements of the franchise.
REWATCHED
ALIENS (1986) – “That’s it man, game over man, game over! What the fuck are we gonna do now? What are we gonna do?”
ALIEN 3 (1992) – “This is Rumor Control.”
ALIEN: RESURRECTION (1997) – “Must be a chick thing.”
THE COUNT
94 First time watches (30 from 2012); 60 Rewatches; 154 Total Films
