WHAT I’VE BEEN WATCHING: JUNE 17TH – JUNE 23RD

This week has been a wonderful week. I only had two days worth of actual work and I’ve spent my weekend at home, in Jamaica. The only thing that will make this weekend better if later tonight England qualify for the semi-finals of Euro 2012 and beat Italy, I know they aren’t the favourites, but — like every competition every year — I can hope, and that I shall.

This week in movie watching was a pretty good one on the whole I guess. A few bad films and a few great ones, but at the end of the day a great week in life makes it even better.

FIRST TIME WATCHED

A THOUSAND WORDS (2012) – It’s Eddie Murphy and the movie asks him to shut up, you’d assume it would turn out better at the end of the day.
SOUND OF NOISE (2012) – Completely nonsensical story with a lot of quirky music and subtitles does not equate to a good time.
THE FP (2012) – Here’s a movie which is so bad it breaks through the barrier to become pretty good. Thank you for making DDR kill people.
TOTAL RECALL (1990) – Not my favourite science fiction, but I think I mainly harp on the ending for not truly deserving it’s ambiguity that Verhoeven wanted it to have.

REWATCHED

BROADCAST NEWS (1982)“Does anybody win these things?”
PARTY DOWN (SEASON 1)“Are we having fun yet!”

THE COUNT

98 First time watches (33 from 2012); 61 Rewatches; 159 Total Films

What’ve You Been Watching?

This is my blog. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My blog is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my blog is useless. Without my blog, I am useless. I must fire my blog true. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my blog and myself are defenders of my mind, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

My favorite watch from last week had to be Hitchcock's REBECCA – glorious melodrama featuring many, many shots of the super-stunning Joan Fontaine.

I remember watching that movie last year and honestly it not clicking with me. While I love Hitchcock that and Marnie are the two of his films I've seen that just didn't get me going.

I will say though, the big reveal scene in Rebecca is fantastic.
