Another week is over and with the help of a couple extra days away from work my week got filled up pretty quickly with movies worthy of discussing. I thank Douglas for giving me the chance to revisit one of my favourite Kurosawa films and also finally watching the sequel, and I forced myself into checking out the latest 3D extravaganza at the theatre. Check it all out below:
FIRST TIME VIEWINGS
BROKEN FLOWERS (2005) – a film where Bill Murray gets to revisit all his previous ladies looking for his supposed son, kind of sweet.
DIRTY DANCING (1987) – I’m certain I’ve seen this before, but I don’t remember it at all. Loved it.
SANJURO (1962) – Not as great as the first chapter, but Mifune’s swagger is enough to keep me entertained.
JANIE JONES (2010) – Sweet father/daughter story with folk music added. Not bad, not great.
WRATH OF THE TITANS 3D (2012) – Comparable sequel to the film from two years ago. Bill Nighy’s character is fun.
REWATCHED
ARCHER (SEASON 1 & 2) – “The danger zone”
RANGO (2011) – “I think the metaphor broke my spleen.”
DRIVE (2011) – “Where’s the deluxe version?”
YOJIMBO (1961) – “A truce is merely the seed for an even bigger battle, nothing is worse!”
